JANUARY 2015

In my district we are so lucky because we get a three week winter break! It has given my time to revamp my TPT activities! I love playing on the computer! You can check it all out at:

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!!!

Our last day of school before Christmas break was so much fun! Both morning and afternoon classes were all there in the morning which made 54 students! After settling in we went to our Friday morning flag. These kids have never been to one so it was exciting. It was also exciting because every grade level was singing a song. We sang Over the River with 170 kids! After we sang the whole school sang a beautiful song using sign language. It's called Heats Around the World. It was amazing to listen to 900 students singing! I love our music teacher! We then went back to the class. We had six rotations with math games, to a snowball sight word game to making crafts. We also had a pizza party! It was a great day. The kids loved it.

I just created two more games. Here is a Short Vowel and Long Vowel Clothespin Matching Game. My students love to play games! They don't even realize that when they are playing they are actually practicing their reading skills and learning.

The word cards get laminated and cut out. You then glue a mini clothespin to it. The students read the words and pin it to the correct picture. Students love using the clothespin and playing while learning.

The next activity is a math games.  Students need lots of practicing so that they really understand the concept. I've had other games like this they my kids LOVE!
You can get this at:

I hope you enjoy them!!!!

Roll and Cover Game Boards

I finally finished a Roll and Cover set of games. There are game boards for seasons and holidays. Each season or holiday is in black and white and in color and has three different levels depending on where each student is at. The kids love these games plus it's really good for counting and number recognition. I hope you enjoy them. Peace and Hugs, Lisa

Kindergarten Journal Writing  Through the Year

Happy day after Thanksgiving! I am so blessed with so many things. Here are my latest project I finished. This year we lost our aide which has made things a little difficult. I have been lucky to have parents. We also switched things around and we now have a regroup time with both kinder classes. We are able to make reading groups from either 5-10 kids since our reading teachers come down. It's for 25 minutes and it is awesome! Well that meant we only had an hour to do centers. We needed four groups so I decided to do journal writing one day a week. I always have a parent there but my partner doesn't. I have a close sentence and ideas of what they could write with the words and pictures. The kids seem to like it and I think it teaches them to be a little more independent. You can find it here on my teachers pay teachers account. I have four different journal entries for each month. I hope you like it. Hugs, Lisa

Short Vowel Word/Picture Game

My students had so much fun during center time yesterday. I made these simple games and they loved them. They are picture game boards where you read a word card and then find the picture it goes with. I know not rocket science but they loved them! You can check them out here.

Beginning, Middle, and Ending Sounds

This is such an important skill to learn so that kids can learn to blend. Check out a great activity to work on this skill.

Math Games

My students love these games! The first is called Plus 2. It's for two students. You need the game board and two different colors of counters plus one die. Roll the die and add two. Whatever the number is you put a counter on it and then your opponent gets a turn. The winner is the one to cover all their numbers. The kids love it plus it is such great addition practice. There is also Plus 3,4,5,6,7,8,9, and 10 and Minus 1, 2, and 3. Enjoy!

Enjoy the game!
